Who we are

About American Ride Hub

American Ride Hub is an independent editorial website about bicycle accessories for American riders. We publish practical, plain-English guides on eight subjects: bike seat covers and cushions, panniers and saddlebags, dog bike carriers, phone holders and mounts, bike baskets, bike covers, handlebar and frame bags, and wall mounts and hangers. Alongside the guides we offer a free carry-load checker that compares your loads with the limits you enter.

Why this site exists

Accessory advice online tends to arrive in two forms: product lists with no reasoning, and videos with no measurements. Neither helps when a rack does not clear your disc brake, a pannier clips your heel or a hook pulls out of a wall. We write for the moment before and after you buy: what to measure, what to check, what can go wrong and how to keep the gear safe and lasting.

What we cover

  • Carrying: baskets, panniers, saddlebags, handlebar bags and frame bags, with capacity, mounting and balance.
  • Companions: phone mounts and dog carriers, with safety and legal notes.
  • Comfort and protection: seat covers and cushions, and covers for storage and weather.
  • Storage: wall mounts and hangers for homes, garages and apartments.

We write in American English, with U.S. measurements and U.S. conditions in mind, from dense cities to rural roads.

How we write

The American Ride Hub Editorial Team writes every page, and every page carries an "Updated" date. Our standards are straightforward:

  1. Facts come from published sources. Numbers such as stud spacing in walls, weights and safety practices draw on manufacturer instructions, standard building practice and public safety guidance. Where sources or products differ, we say so.
  2. Rules of thumb are labeled. When a number is a common guideline rather than a hard limit, we describe it as one.
  3. No invented evidence. We do not publish made-up statistics, fabricated test results, fake reviews or invented experts.
  4. No brand rankings. We explain product types and how to choose between them. We do not rank named products or send you to a checkout.
  5. Plain language. We prefer short sentences, real measurements and honest trade-offs over hype.

How we are funded

American Ride Hub currently carries no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, we will label it clearly and explain it in our Affiliate Disclosure. Editorial decisions are never influenced by a retailer or manufacturer.

Photography

Photos come from photographers on Unsplash and are credited on each page. They illustrate bikes, riders and places, and a product seen in a photo is not an endorsement.

Corrections and feedback

If something on the site is wrong, unclear or out of date, please tell us. Email [email protected] with the page and the sentence in question, and a source if you have one. We correct errors promptly and update the page's date. You can also suggest topics: some of our best guides began as a question from a reader.

It is not safety, medical or legal advice, and it does not replace the instructions from your bike's maker, local traffic laws or your own judgment.
